Migri decision

Read a positive or negative decision and know the next step with DVV and the permit card.

Where this article fits

Migri has given a decision. This article helps you read the outcome and choose the right next step — it does not cover renewal in detail.

If the decision is positive

• check permit type, validity period and conditions • wait for the residence permit card in a separate step • start DVV registration if needed (personal identity code)

If the decision is negative

• read the grounds and appeal period in the decision • keep the decision and attachments • do not stay in Finland illegally — check any removal decision

The decision and the card are different steps. A positive decision does not mean you already have the card.

If you need help

If you do not understand what the decision means or the next step with the permit card and DVV registration, SKMY can help you read the decision. SKMY does not make decisions for Migri.

Next step

If a permit is granted, note the expiry date and read the renewal article well in advance.
