What is a decision?
A Kela decision tells whether the application was granted, rejected or still needs information. The decision may appear in OmaKela. Read it calmly and in full.
This stage comes after the application. You already know what you applied for and where to follow the case.
What to check first
When the decision arrives, first check what matter it concerns and whether the result is positive or negative. Read the reasons before doing anything else. Save the decision, because you may need it later for payments, further information or an appeal.
How to read the decision
Start with the beginning: it usually states the result. Then read the reasons, any payment information and the instructions if you disagree.
In the decision, look especially for:
• the result • the reasons • possible payment date • deadline if you need to reply or appeal
If you need help
If you are unsure how to read a Kela decision, what the deadline means, or whether to continue to payments or appeals, SKMY can help you understand the decision and prepare for contact. SKMY does not make decisions for Kela.
Contact SKMYDo not miss the deadline. If the decision is unclear, ask for an explanation as soon as possible.
Next step
If the decision is positive, continue to payments. If you disagree, continue to appeals.
